ABOUT

Jayne is an experienced Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist who has worked extensively with young people, families and adults since 2012 within NHS and private settings. Jayne offers a safe and confidential space for individual, couples, and family counselling, incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Solution Focused Therapy, Relationship Counselling, Phobias, Loss and Grief, and more.

Jayne also offers a particular specialism in Relationships and Psychosexual Health, with a wealth of experience working with Transgender, Gender Fluid and Non-Binary patients, both in her private practice and through several years with GenderGP. She has significant personal and professional experience of Gender Identity and LGBTQ, and provides a great deal of understanding and empathy for gender variance and gender questioning people. Jayne was inspired to specialise in this particular branch of therapy as a result of her close friendship with her colleague and GenderGP’s Lead Therapist, Marianne Oakes. Jayne has worked closely with Marianne and her family and has experienced first-hand many of the challenges that come with transition. Jayne loves to work with people of all ages and has a particular affinity with trans youths and their families.

STYLE & APPROACH

"As a Professional Counsellor and Clinical Hypnotherapist, I have gained a wealth of experience working with children, young people, adults, couples and families, locally and internationally. I specialise in many areas of mental health, neuro diversity, gender reassignment, issues around sex, loss, grief, and many more. I have a great deal of understanding and empathy whilst incorporating my listening skills and experience to make the counselling experience positive and impactful.

My foundation is person centred which is client-led to help you reach your own realisations, discover how to move forward, and make those much needed changes for a positive future. I incorporate skills and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Couples and Relationship Counselling, Psychosexual Therapy, Loss and Grief, Smoking Cessation and Weight Loss which have enabled many positive changes for my clients.

The first session will be for you to tell your story and get all those issues out in the open so you can address these moving forward and find a positive outcome."
